Want to start learning dance lifts the right way — without rushing, fear, or unsafe habits? Dance Lifts: Country Swing Specialty Series is a progressive, technique-first class designed to teach dancers how lifts work, when they belong, when they don’t, and how to execute them safely and confidently. Rather than chasing height or flash, this series prioritizes timing, intention, communication, and control. Dancers will learn to recognize when lifts enhance a dance and when they take away from it — building decision-making skills alongside physical technique. Country swing entrances and exits are used as the primary training foundation, while lift mechanics are taught in a way that translates across multiple dance genres. The goal isn’t just to lift — it’s to understand why you’re lifting and how to do it responsibly. This class builds week by week, allowing dancers to develop strength, trust, and clarity without pressure or shortcuts. ✨ How the Series Works: – Progressive weekly structure – Clear breakdowns and spotting – Safety-first coaching and pacing – Options for different comfort levels ✨ What We’ll Focus On: – The how, when, and why of using dance lifts – Proper technique for balance, timing, and control – Clear communication and shared responsibility between partners – When lifts enhance a dance — and when they distract from it – Versatile lift mechanics that translate across multiple dance genres – Country swing entrances and exits as the primary training framework 📍 Location: Outlaw Studio – Calgary 🗓 Format: 4-week specialty series 👟 Who it’s for: Country swing dancers comfortable with basic patterns who want to explore lifts safely and intentionally ⚠️ Note: Partners are required. Rotations may be used when appropriate. If you are seeking a specialty class partner, please reach out to info@outlawdance.com to be added to our partner match waitlist. This series isn’t about collecting tricks — it’s about building trust, clarity, and control. Strong technique first. Everything else follows.
