What level of dance experience do I need?

We recommend dancers have completed an Outlaw Level 2 or higher class in the genre they're auditioning for, or have comparable previous training. View upcoming classes here.

Question 2

How do I know if I am ready for the performance division level teams?

Accepted Answer

The performance level teams require a higher level of skills, we will look at these at the audition to make sure you are ready for this level of dance. These teams also require a higher level of commitment and dedication to showing up and being apart of a team. We're looking for people who genuinely want to grow—people who push themselves, come prepared, are coachable and keep a positive mindset when something is challenging. We're much more interested in finding the right people than just filling spots on our team.

What do I need to prepare before auditions?

Make sure you’ve reviewed and practiced any preset dances, skills, or moves required for your genre. Come ready to give them your best—we’re looking for preparation, potential, and what you can bring to the team.

What if I can’t attend the scheduled audition?

Accepted Answer

Reach out to us as soon as possible at info@outlawdance.com. Alternate or late audition opportunities may be available if space and scheduling allow, but they are not guaranteed.

Question 5

When will I find out my audition results?

Accepted Answer

We’ll contact dancers directly once auditions are complete and team placements have been finalized. Usually, this happens within a week of the audition.

Question 6

Can I audition for more than one genre or division?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Tell us everything you’re interested in and we’ll find the best fit for you. Final team placements will reflect your audition, experience, availability, and where we believe you’ll thrive most.

If you’re not placed exactly where you hoped right away, that doesn’t mean the door is closed—dancers can develop into new roles, teams, and divisions as they train and grow. We can help point you toward the next step and what to work toward.

Question 7

My team choice says that an audition is not needed, why?

Some divisions have different entry processes:
Foundation: No traditional audition. We’ll use a placement to make sure you have the core skills and knowledge needed to join any of the performance teams and help guide you toward the right starting point.
Junior: No audition or placement. The info session is simply a chance for parents and dancers to learn more about the team, meet us, ask questions, and see the space.
